I've been reading about the vast improvements to Davinci Resolve, and I'm contemplating getting a Cinema 4K pocket camera soon too, so wanting to get familiar with the new Resolve before I get new camera and computer so I can be ready to hit the ground when I get those. I don't really care about what is previously on the old 12.5 version.would it be better to un-install it completely before attempting the 'upgrade' or is it easier to just let the installer do an upgrade? I’m a CSI (Colorist Society International) colorist and have been involved with Resolve both as a user, and consultant to post production companies for many years. My old MBP was maxed out at the time with: The questions I get are from people that want to know more about DaVinci Resolve’s minimum system requirements rather than the ideal system we would all have if money was no object. DaVinci Resolve (originally known as da Vinci Resolve) is a color grading, color correction, visual effects, and audio post-production video editing application for macOS, Windows, and Linux, originally developed by da Vinci Systems, and now developed by Blackmagic Design following its acquisition in 2009. There used to be a document published just showing the requirements but I cannot find that on the support pages.Ĭan someone send me some links to the version 16 manual and system requirements? Was hoping I could run the newer version Resolve 16 beta.as that I heard it had been overhauled to work a bit better with less resources, and thought I'd just putter around with it till I upgrade my hardware (hoping to eventually get a Mac Pro).Īnyway, I can't seem to find the Version 16 Users Manual, nor can I find the system requirements for Davinci Resolve 16 on the support pages. Editing is done on the cut and edit pages, visual effects and motion graphics on the Fusion page, color correction on the color page, audio on the Fairlight page, and media organization and output on the media and deliver pages. I looked and last time I worked with Davinci Resolve was version 12.5.Ĭurrently I have an older MacBook Pro, late 2011. DaVinci Resolve is divided into 'pages', each of which gives you a dedicated workspace and tools for a specific task. ![]() ![]() Whew, been AGES since I was last on here. Minimum system requirements for Windows Windows 8.1 Pro 64 bit 16 GB of system memory is recommended and 8 GB is the minimum supported Blackmagic Design.
